The book is set in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Most of the events take place at night in the Magic Kingdom, one of the parks at Walt Disney World. The story was written by Ridley Pearson and is told in third person limited omniscient style.
"Kingdom Keepers" is about 5 teenagers that had been selected to be Disney Host Interactives, or DHI. The DHI was technology developed by the Walt Disney Imagineers that created lifelike holograms of the 5 teens which acted as tour guides in the Magic Kingdom.
Finn and his friends find themselves appearing in the park in the form of their DHIs while they are asleep. They discover that the park comes to life after hours, and a senior cast member named Wayne explains to them that the Magic Kingdom is being threatened by a mysterious group of characters called the Overtakers. He explains to them that they must battle these Overtakers
The group looks through the park’s attractions for clues as to what can stop the Overtakers and their leader, the witch Maleficient from "Sleeping Beauty". They learn that the secret weapon they need to do this is actually Walt Disney's first pen, which is kept at the "One Man’s Dream" exhibit at Disney-MGM Studios.
They are able to get this magical pen, and Finn and his friends are finally able to stop the Overtakers’ plan to overtake not only the Magic Kingdom,but the rest of Walt Disney World as well.
Because Walt Disney World is a favorite vacation place for my family, the story was very easy to visualize, and made the story much more fun to read. I give it 4 out of 5 stomps.
