Pichi Pichi Pitch

Book: Pichi Pichi Pitch: Mermaid Melody volume 5
Manga by: Pink Hanamori
Scenario by: Michiko Yokote

This book is about mermaid princesses trying to save the seas from the forces of evil. The main characters are Lucia Nanami, the Pink mermaid from the North Pacific Sea; Hanon Hôshô, the Aquamarine mermaid from the South Atlantic Sea; Rina Tôin, the Green mermaid from the North Atlantic Sea; and Kaito Dômoto, the Prince of the Sea and Lucia's true love.
In past issues, Lucia, Hanon, Rina, Kaito, and three other mermaids battled Gackto, the madman who tried to rule the seas; and Sara, the then-evil Orange mermaid from the Indian Sea. They defeated Gackto, opened Sara's heart, and Kaito finds out that Lucia is the mermaid who saved him from drowning years ago.
In this issue, Kaito leaves for a surfing contest in Hawaii. While he's away, Lucia has a dream about a new Orange mermaid, Seira; the "fragments of her heart", and the new force that threatens not only the seas, but the entire world. When Lucia wakes up, she finds Seira's pearl in her hand. She runs and tries to tell the others, but she hears on the news that Kaito has gone missing.Lucia is worried sick about him.
A couple of days later, the new school year begins. Lucia, Hanon and Rina walk into the classroom and make an amazing discovery -- except for a broken arm, Kaito's okay! -- or so it seems. When the girls talk to him, they realize that he has no memory of being the prince of the seas or of the mermaids. What's worse, there's a girl Kaito "brought home" from Hawaii -- who is later revealed to be Michal Amagi --- and Kaito thinks she's the one who saved him years ago.
After school, Lucia turns into a mermaid and jumps into the sea to clear her head. She accidentally bumps into some old enemies -- Sister Sheshe (pronounced shay-shay) and Sister Mimi, the Black Beauty Sisters. Because of what happened at school, she wasn't up to fighting and almost gave up when Hanon and Rina came to her rescue. When the Sisters were defeated, the force that Lucia was warned about in her dreams revealed himself to all three of them as an four-winged angel named Michel. But, for some reason, his power mysteriously fails and he disappears. One of the feathers he left behind fused itself with Seira's pearl, which Lucia has been holding the entire time.
What happened to Kaito's memory? Will it return? Who is Michal Amagi? What does she have to do with all of this? What tricks does Michel have up his sleeve? And what about Seira and the fragments? How many are there? Will Lucia be able to collect them all? All these questions and more will be revealed in this and future volumes of...

~~Pichi Pichi Pitch: Mermaid Melody~~

I loved this book. I recommend this book to anyone that likes backward comic books, mermaids, music, love triangles, and/or people with amnesia. This book was amazing and I give it four and a half stomps out of five.
