The Truth About Forever by London Chandler

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. The book begins with Macy helping her boyfriend Jason pack for his trip to “Brain Camp,” where he’ll spend the summer while Macy stays behind in their hometown. She feels a bit lost because Jason has been the focus of her life since her father died suddenly a year and a half ago. She feels like Jason makes her feel complete. He makes up for all her imperfects. Jason is super smart and is involved with everything. He works down at the local library where Macy will take over until he returns. After her father's death Macy kept to herself until she met Jason and clung to him and his orderly life, made up of lists and sublists. There's no room for surprises in his world, which helps Macy forget about the pain of losing her father and focus on being "Fine" which she is most certainly not, but when anyone asks how she is she just simply replies "I'm fine, just fine.". As summer begin, Macy finds herself very unwelcome in Jason’s previous world during his absence. When she begins his job at the library two girls who work there with her make it clear that they don’t like her and only allow her to do menial jobs that they consider beneath them. They think Jason is too good for her and that she isn't responsible enough nor smart enough to take his place at the library. Days later Macy decides to write an email to Jason telling him that she misses him and ended it with an "i love you". Jason responds by emailing her his wish that they take a break for the summer and “reevaluate” their relationship in August. Macy is crushed for she feels like its all her fault that they aren't together anymore and if she wouldn't have said i love you then they would still be together. Macy feels even more lost now that she doesn't have Jason or her father in her life anymore. Weeks later her mother throws another one of her big dinner parties where Macy meets the employees of Wish Catering: out of order and pregnant Delia, odd but lovable Bert, slow moving Monica, wild and crazy party girl Kristy, and quiet handsome Wes. Slowly Macy finds herself stepping outside of her safe zone going to parties and staying out late on weekends instead studying 24/7,and experiencing a real life and real friends who manage to work their way behind the protective wall she’s built around herself,But with all the changes Macy begins to go through, her mother becomes frightened that the perfect life they’ve built for themselves is about to come tumbling down.

This was a real good book and i'm not going to spoil the ending. If you want to know what happens to Macy and her mother go read the book. =] I give this book 4 stomps out of 5.
