Such A Pretty Girl

Meridith's father was supposed to be locked up for 9 years but he got out early. She was not suppose to see him again until she turned 18 and she is now only 15. What will Meridith do now? She thought she had more time.
Meridith's father has come home from a long 3 years in prison. Her mother is so excited about it. She is not because she thinks her father will hurt her again. The court has ordered that her and her father never be along together, he is suppose to stay in a separate house and that he must register as a sex offender. Meridith does not think it will stop him. She is so angry at him. Her mother want them to be a happy family. She wants them to pretend like nothing ever happened. She know he will try to get her alone sooner or later so she gets help from a retired police officer. He give her some cameras that are hidden in a teddy bear and a smoke detector. She install them in her mother's home to hopefully catch her father if he tries something with her.
One day her mom goes to the store while her father is visiting. Her mom know she isn't suppose to left alone with her father but she does it anyway. While Meridith is in her room he sneaks up and tries to attack her. She tries to fight him off but he is too strong. then she reaches for the knife in her pocket but he sees her so she throws it against the wall. She then gets up and picks up a statue and hit him on the head.\
This was a good book but I was angry at what her father was doing to his own child. What kind of a person would do such a thing? his man must be really sick in the head. Meridith's mother also made me mad because she acted like the man was innocent. She said that he had made a mistake and that he should be forgiven. This book reminded me so much of a real life story. I would recommend this book to young adults because of the mature subject matter.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stomps.
